COFFEE PODS

A coffee pod is a single serve of finely ground coffee sealed in filter paper and enclosed in an inert foil envelope to preserve freshness. In the decade since inception, the concept of coffee pods has now been embraced by almost all Italian coffee companies. The growing popularity of pod coffee throughout Europe at both a domestic and commercial level has led to the establishment of Australian coffee pod and pod coffee machines manufacturing facilities provided by a number of independent contractors. The recent introduction of locally produced coffee pods has led to a dramatic improvement in the freshness and consequently flavour of coffee pods now available to Australian consumers.

We are delighted to offer our Global Citizen blend in pod form and will soon be launching a new 100% Rainforest Alliance Organization certified blend to satisfy the growing sustainability demands of our customers. The Global Citizen blend has translated well into pods producing a rich milk chocolate flavoured coffee. The pods are ground to reflect the brewing characteristics of the Spinel pod machine. The fineness of the grind maximizes extraction and produces a demonstrably rich crema. That extraction is enhanced by increasing the amount of coffee by five percent above the standard pod dose and by the freshness of the roast which is weeks rather than months old.  

Coffee pods are an excellent product for small offices. The coffee produced by the pod is arguably better than that produced by most automatic coffee machines. Each pod is identical guaranteeing consistency irrespective of the user. No skill whatsoever is required to use the machine. There is no mess as the pod is simply discarded after use and cleaning takes only a few seconds.
